Saturday, March 14th, 2020: The municipal government of San Miguel de Allende issued a release (shown below) regarding public policy in light of concerns about COVID-19. The release says that all public events organized by the municipality — cultural, social, and sporting — have been cancelled until further notice.

Boleto City is suspending ticket sales for all public events for the remainder of March and for April.

The five final public performances of the Diez Minutos play festival, scheduled for March 18 to 22 at the San Miguel Playhouse, have been cancelled. The Sunday, March 15, performance of Diez Minutos was filmed, and will very likely be made available for online streaming, as a “virtual event.” We will notify you here and via our email newsletter when we have more information.

The virtual event approach has been adopted by the producers of the upcoming TEDxSanMigueldeAllende conference, which had been scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 21, at the Hotel Real de Minas. Instead, the conference is being filmed, and will be available for live or delayed streaming, or download, beginning on Saturday, March 28. There will be a charge of 300 pesos for online password access to the full TEDx conference. The TEDx VIP Equinox Party that was to take place on March 20 has been cancelled.

Ticket sales have also been suspended for two events scheduled for April: Lady Zen Sings Bessie Smith (April 5 to 7), and Chorale San Miguel’s Easter Concert (April 11). These concert has official been cancelled, but the Bessie Smith concert is simply being postponed until later this year.

If you have purchased a 300 pesos ticket for the TEDx conference, you have three options:

    1. Receive a full refund;
    2. Apply your purchase to a password for the virtual event; or
    3. Accept Boleto City store credit for the amount of your purchase, to be applied to future events.

If you bought a 700 pesos ticket to TEDx, options 1) and 3) are the same; if you selection option 2), then 400 pesos of your purchase can either be refunded or kept as store credit, as you choose.

Likewise, if you have bought tickets for Bessie Smith, you can maintain your reserved seats for the event when it is rescheduled; receive a refund; or use your purchase for store credit for any future event sold by Boleto City.

As for the Easter Concert, you have the option of either a full refund or store credit for any future event sold by Boleto City.

Please be aware that refunds can take up to 10 days. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we will make sure every Boleto City customer is taken care of. Our principal concern is public health and safety.

Our office at Mercado Sano will remain open during normal business hours for the near future.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this troubling time. All questions sent to [email protected] or [email protected] will be answered promptly.
